K-5th Grade Read Aloud Collections Paired with Caminos Core Resources
Each grade level Collection consists of 60 Spanish titles, with one copy of each book. There are between 5-8 titles per unit. These collections are designed to be paired with Amplify Caminos grade-level units by theme and genre. They include books from U.S. and international authors writing in multiple languages, with books in various formats such as hardcover, softcover, picture books, and chapter books. The goal of these collections is to inspire students to delve deeper into the themes of the Caminos curriculum by exploring other literature, which helps them grasp complex ideas presented in different ways.
Below is an example of an English and Spanish collection paried. The English collection's theme of liberty focuses on historical fiction where characters show great courage to fight for freedom from injustice.
The Spanish collection, with its theme of courage, uses realistic fiction to show acts of bravery in everyday life, from overcoming personal challenges to facing natural disasters.
Together, these collections teach students that courage is the essential link to achieving liberty, whether on a large historical scale or in daily life.
