Books del Sur curates Latin America Spanish-language literature to support dual language curriculum.

Spanish Books for Dual Language Programs

Books del Sur curates Spanish-language books specifically for dual language and bilingual programs in U.S. schools. Every title in our catalog has been selected by a team of former dual language teachers and reviewed by the Educator Collaborative — a national network of bilingual educators who evaluate each book for cultural relevance, instructional value, and real-classroom fit.

We work with schools, libraries, and districts across the United States, from individual classroom libraries to large-scale district adoptions. Our collections are organized by grade level and curriculum alignment, making it easy for coordinators and teachers to find the right books for their program.

What is a dual language program?
A dual language program is a bilingual education model in which students receive instruction in two languages — typically English and Spanish — with the goal of developing full proficiency in both. Books del Sur supports these programs by providing authentic, culturally relevant Spanish literature that meets the instructional and linguistic demands of dual language classrooms.

What kinds of books do you offer for dual language programs?
Our catalog includes read-alouds, classroom libraries, book clubs, decodables for early readers, and middle and high school collections — all in Spanish, all curated for bilingual and dual language contexts in the United States.

How do you select books for dual language programs?
Every title is evaluated by the Educator Collaborative for cultural authenticity, instructional alignment, and read-aloud or independent reading suitability. We reject between 15% and 20% of all titles we evaluate each year.

Do you work with specific curricula?
Yes. We have experience aligning collections to district-specific curricula. Chicago Public Schools partnered with Books del Sur to align 569 unique titles to their Skyline ALE curriculum, delivering 1,191,270 books across 42,194 sets.

How do schools order?
Schools and districts can contact us at sales@booksdelsur.com to request a quote. We accept purchase orders (POs) and offer volume discounts.
