Mi vida de abeja
My Bee Life tells the story of bees over a year, from spring to spring. A simple text, which shows the different stages of collecting nectar and making honey, but with the cadence of a song of vibrant phrases, which reflect the hectic and incessant rhythm of the activity of the hive. Isabelle Arsenault's illustrations, a combination of ink, gouache, graphite, and colored pencil, are energetic and joyful. In them, landscapes - represented in an impressionistic way - alternate with cartoon-style drawings - of bees with big eyes and smiling faces, but with a sharp nose that reminds us of the stinger they hide in their abdomen. A work that allows readers to follow the erratic flight of bees among the flowers, and enter, as guests of honor, the hive, the small honey factory.
