English Description:
José was a child with a song in his heart and dance in his steps. Born in Mexico in 1908, he came into the world throwing more kicks than a halter and, growing up, he became passionate about drawing, the piano and dreams. José's dreams took him to distant places. He dreamed of bullfighters and the sound of the can-can dancers he had seen with his father. The dance lit a flame in José's soul. With his heart to guide, José left his family and went to New York to dance. He learned to flow and float and fly through space with steps that were like the Mexican breeze. When José danced, his spirit soared into the air. From New York to distant lands, José Limón became known as the man who gave the world its own style of dance.
