Teacher Comments: [2023] I loved the subtle hint of humor in this book as it tells the story of Sofía, an eleven-year-old girl who, when asked what she wants to be when she grows up, answers "useless". The plot centers around Sofía's unique perspective and her unconventional answer to the question about her future. She feels out of place in her new coastal town and is angry at her parents for moving her there. I think this part of the book is a good example of what students sometimes have to deal with in their own lives. Therefore they can relate and make connections with the text. | [2025] I enjoyed reading this book and think my students will too.
