English Description:

El payaso bombero by Matías Mackenna, illustrated by Evangelina Prieto, is a charming and meaningful picture book about a clown who also dreams of being a firefighter. Dressed in flowered pants and a fire helmet, he loves telling jokes and putting out fires—but neither the other clowns nor the firefighters understand his unusual combination. Through perseverance and kindness, he proves that embracing one’s unique identity can bridge worlds and inspire others. With accessible Spanish and vibrant illustrations, this story is a wonderful resource for dual-language educators to explore self-expression, inclusion, and the courage to be different with early readers.
