Verónica Oviedo Buendía is a publicist and social communicator by profession. Born in Quito, Ecuador, she currently resides in Cuenca and is the mother of two children. She was a columnist in the newspaper El Mercurio, Revista La Pluma, Diario El Tiempo and editor of journalistic content in the women's magazine Hogar, the most widely read magazine in Ecuador.

Her first children's story is titled ¿Qué vas a ser cuando seas grande Josefina?, and was published in November 2018. Her first children's novel, El misterio de los gagones, was published in October 2019. Children's Literature is the activity, within writing, that has given her the most satisfaction.
